Patents Awarded for Hunter’s SmartWeight® Technology

Hunter has earned multiple patents on key components of its highly successful SmartWeight® wheel balancing technology. SmartWeight balancing provides substantial benefits to shop owners, technicians and vehicle owners by reducing the use of costly wheel weights by 30%-40%, increasing balancing efficiency and productivity while providing superior ride quality. SmartWeight balancing is a standard feature of all Hunter GSP series wheel balancers.

Hunter balancer software allows tracking of SmartWeight balancing weight savings. This shop example shows a weight savings of 1,939.50 oz., a 31.7% decrease of weight usage over conventional balancing methods. And, 53% of the wheels were dynamically balanced using only one weight, thereby increasing productivity.
