Hunter Engineering Goes “Green” at Bridgestone-Firestone Symposium
BFRC, a long-time supporter of environmental efforts, has won the accolades of government agencies and environmental organizations for its actions. Hunter’s contribution to the event included a presentation on the SmartWeight® balancing technology. Standard on all Hunter GSP-series wheel balancers, SmartWeight technology delivers a better ride quality than conventional balancing technology, while using 30% to 40% less wheel weight! This means that potentially one-third less lead wheel weight per vehicle is placed into the environment. As the industry replaces lead wheel weights with more expensive materials, the savings provided by SmartWeight technology can help offset any additional cost. Bridgestone-Firestone was the first major U.S. service operator to commit to the replacement of lead weights with steel. And at the same time, the company has reduced overall wheel weight use by 38% when using Hunter balancers with the SmartWeight feature. Hunter Engineering is a world leader in wheel alignment, brake service, wheel service and safety inspection equipment. Hunter equipment is approved and used by vehicle manufacturers, automobile and truck dealers, tire dealers and automotive service facilities around the world.
