SA400 Suspension Analyzer
The SA400 provides a quick, objective inspection of all four corners of a vehicle’s suspension. Unlike a bounce test, each corner is tested independently to provide a safety check for:
Adhesion†
Is the tire in proper contact with the road? Can you steer and brake effectively? Very low adhesion levels indicate a safety problem and can result in tire cupping.
Damping
Hunter’s patented SA400 Damping Measurement System analyzes the ability of the shock to control excessive suspension and body motion.
Increase Service Volume and Revenue in the Suspension Bay
![]() † Adhesion was defined and standardized by EUSAMA, the European Shock Absorber Manufacturer Association.
NOTICE:Product delivered to international markets may differ slightly in content to domestic product. Please consult your local distributor for details. |
![]() This example shows side-to-side imbalance, indicating that something is wrong on at least one side (most likely the weak right side). The technician should check components probably resulting in shock or strut replacement.
Test Recommends Shock/Strut Upgrades
![]() The SA400 displays go beyond pass or fail recommendations. For this vehicle, damping is “Soft”. With this information, the technician can discuss the customer’s desired ride characteristics. If the customer wants a “Normal” or “Firm” ride, this customer should consider a shock or strut upgrade. |
